Grinnell’s individually advised curriculum allows you to create your own course of study while working closely with your faculty adviser to make the most of your liberal arts education. This model reflects Grinnell’s long-honored philosophy of self-governance in which students make individual choices about their educational experience.
Designing your own education involves:
- advising (i.e., consulting with your faculty adviser),
- understanding Grinnell’s curriculum (i.e., knowing the subjects taught at Grinnell) and how to plan for a four-year degree,
- learning how to register for classes in your first semester, and
- knowing the right course placement for you.
This guide covers all of these areas and more.
